 | Governor Kavanaugh Council No. 1423 (St. Denis Church, Whitefield, ME) (1 of 2) This is among the photographs at the farm. It was reproduced in an issue of the St. Denis Historical Society's newsletter with a listing of the individuals in the photo, one of whom is George Hanley (husband of Alice (Field) Hanley). That reproduction and list is also available on this website and may be located by searching the "All Media" page for "Kavanaugh".
The photo is taken from the front lawn of St. Denis Church in Whitefield, ME, with a full view of the building across the street which, at one time functioned as a convent for the Sisters of Mercy. The third floor burned, however, and the Sisters thereafter were transferred to Portland. Today that building functions as the Parish Hall. |
