The family still resides at 431 30th Street in Norfolk City, Virginia. Her sons James and Avery are still living with Mary. James is working as a clerk and Avery works as a photo engraver for a daily paper.

He was nearly 36 years old, and identified his closest living relative as Rosa Williams, also of Charlotte.
