Notes |
Name:
- In the obituary of Avery H. Williams printed in The Patriot and in the document entitled "Helen's Story" written by Helen G. Williams, Avery H. Williams' mother is referred to as "Mary Talley Collins Williams." In the Certificate of Marriage between James A. Williams and Mary J. Talley there is no reference to "Collins." Mary was only 21 when she married James so we assume she remarried after James died and before she came to live with Avery H. Williams' family prior to WWII.

 | Death Record of Mary Jane Talley Williams Collins Death record of Mary Jane Talley. She first married James Avery Williams and is buried with Avery Henry Williams. However, family members remember "Collins" as being part of her name, and on the headstone she shares with James her name reads "Mary Talley Williams Collins". This death record confirms that, at the time of her death, Mary was a widow (by virtue of James Avery Williams having died) but that she had a living husband, George W. Collins, age 83. |
